Celtic Series

The 2013 Celtic Series is four great cycling sportives taking place across four Celtic regions of Ireland, Wales, Brittany and the Isle of Man.   You can participate in one, two or all Celtic Series events as your 2013 cycling challenge. The events cater for all levels of cycling ability.  If you want to try your first cycling Sportive or challenge yourself over some of the finest cycling terrains across Europe, the Celtic Series is the 2013 cycling event for you. The 2013 Celtic Series starts April 13th in Brittany France with the Tro Bro Leon over a course known as ‘Mini Paris Roubaix’.  The following day you get to see the Pros take on the same route.  Wales is the next stop on April 27th with the Tour of Pembrokeshire offering a real cycling challenge across the picturesque valleys, mountains and rugged coastline of west Wales.

The Tour de Conamara takes place on Saturday May 25th and will introduce cyclists to the most spectacular coastal and mountain cycling route in the West of Ireland.  The following day the Tour de Conamara Sportive Team Time Trial takes place giving you a chance to sample two consecutive days of cycling, just like the pros. This year the fourth leg of the series brings us to the Isle of Man for the Lighthouse Challenge on July 7th.  The event is a 160km coastal loop of the Isle of Man over the routes that inspired World Champions and some of the leading pros on the current professional scene.

What’s new for 2013 Celtic Series?

This year we welcome a new addition to the Celtic Series. The Isle of Man Lighthouse Challenge takes participants on a full coastal loop of the Isle of Man with the chance to follow the training routes of the Manx Missile.

The Tour de Conamara adds the option of taking part in a sportive team time trial on the day after the 140km and 80km routes.  Entry to the time trial is reserved for Tour de Conamara and Celtic Warrior participants. All this against the backdrop of a great local music and cultural event taking place in Connemara.

This year, in addition to the limited edition Celtic Warrior kit, participants who take part in three of the four Celtic Series events will receive a specially commissioned memento to mark their participation.
